TOPIC: Change Octave/Keyboard Mapping

Could someone point me to the easiest way to change a preset to be mapped an octave higher.
I have a nice acoustic bass SoundFont but I would like the option to go down an octave without having to press the octave down button on the midi keyboard itself. I have tried editing the Instrument down -12 semitones but this gives an unnatural sound because it is playing say C3 bent down to C2 rather than playing a real C2 when I hit C3 (if this makes sense!).
The soundfont is 78mb so I dont want to duplicate all the samples and change to root key (if this even works?)
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

This is impossible at the preset level to shift an instrument over the keyboard. However at the instrument level you can simply use this tool:

Thanks so much Davy - problem now sorted.
I was unable to go into Transposition option because Key Ranges were not assigned in Instruments.
